Betty Crocker & Fannie Farmer

I enjoy feeding people. My natural inclination is to cook enough food for four even when I’m cooking for only myself. It was easiest when I was living with two other people and I could sit them down with steaming food when they got home from work. It’s nice to sit down and chat with friends as they partake of a meal that I have prepared. I feel more connected with my friends and take pride in the fact that they enjoy my cooking. I would have liked that aspect of the 1950s; the frequent dinner parties and hosting events.
